From one sausage roll to 1,000 stores: with Aptean, Kadir’s sets course for the United Kingdom
How Kadir's grew from a single halal sausage roll to 1,000 stores — and why Aptean's food ERP is the platform behind its expansion into the UK market.

The halal brand from ’s‑Hertogenbosch is professionalising its operations with Aptean’s food‑specific system supporting production, recipes and traceability — including two bakeries of its own in Deurne and Cuijk.
Breda, August 2026 — It started in 2019 with a single sausage roll. Six years on, Kadir Food’s snacks are stocked in more than 1,000 supermarket stores across the Netherlands and Belgium, the brand bakes in its own bakery in Deurne and is currently starting up a second bakery in Cuijk — and the halal brand has chosen Aptean Food & Beverage ERP to keep carrying that pace. The food‑specific system, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, brings production, quality, traceability, recipes, inventory and supply chain together in one environment. For founder Kadir Ahmed, this is the operational foundation for the company’s next phase of growth.
For founder Kadir Ahmed, Aptean’s system is the foundation for the business’s next steps, which include expansion into the UK and a second production site.
“With Aptean’s food-specific cloud solution we want to anchor our processes centrally and lay a future-ready foundation, especially for our expansion into the United Kingdom. Part of the reason we chose Aptean is that it makes us ready for the UK, but also that the system grows with our ambition to become a global brand,” says Kadir Ahmed, founder of Kadir’s.
One system that can keep up with the pace
Kadir was looking for one system that could handle the business’s growth and wanted to avoid separate tools that would have to be integrated with every new product line or market. They settled on Aptean’s Food & Beverage ERP because of its functionality built specifically for food producers, its modern base on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and its ability to scale in line with a brand that is expanding quickly. A positive reference from an existing Aptean customer and Aptean’s track record in the bakery sector gave the final vote of confidence .
A second bakery, not a second way of working
Kadir’s rapid expansion is no longer theoretical. He bakes in his own bakery in Deurne and is opening a new plant in Cuijk. Two sites normally mean two ways of working: separate records, separate inventory records, separate quality files that have to be reconciled at the end of the month. In one system, Cuijk joins as an additional site within the same structure — the same recipes, the same traceability, the same numbers.
“When we started out, we honestly thought the system was too big for us. Now that we are starting up our new plant in Cuijk, it slots straight in. That is exactly the strength of Aptean Food & Beverage on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central,” says Ahmed.
Ready for the product lines and countries still to come
The implementation follows the approach Aptean applies across the sector, ensuring Kadir’s can move quickly. The goal: processes that connect, information that is centrally available, and a base solid enough to take on new sites, product lines and countries.
Aptean is also investing in AI through its AppCentral platform, with Aptean Intelligence as its foundation. These capabilities are designed to support teams — identifying exceptions earlier and reducing manual checks — not replacing them. As the foundation beds in, they will become available to Kadir’s as well, for example in sales order handling, traceability and inventory management.
“We are pleased to welcome Kadir’s as a customer. Once the foundation is in place, we will help the brand accelerate its growth further — in the Netherlands, Belgium and beyond,” says Joris Kolff, Senior Sales Director at Aptean.
The mission behind the snack — and the chain that delivers it
Bringing people and cultures together over food makes you happy. That was the mission Kadir Ahmed started with in 2019, under the brand name Kadir’s: Happy Halal to everyone. It began small, one sausage roll, plenty of ambition, and grew into a full shelf: sausage rolls, frikandel rolls, soups, bapao buns, kebabs and chicken rolls. Today, the snacks are stocked by virtually every major supermarket chain in the Netherlands and Belgium, across more than 1,000 stores, baked in the company’s own bakery in Deurne and soon in Cuijk as well. And the numbers have grown too: from a turnover of €23,000 in 2019 to €1.4 million in 2025.
But growth like that makes demands of the organisation behind it. A halal brand scaling to thousands of stores, opening a second production site and entering a new market has to keep recipes consistent, manage inventory and shelf life, and be able to show at any moment where a product came from and where it went. Halal integrity is not a marketing claim here, but a matter of traceability across the entire chain.
“If we see an opportunity, we go for it. So, the companies that work with us do need to be able to keep up,” says Ahmed.
